On Friday, April 8, InterAction CEO Sam Worthington spoke at the first panel of an informal meeting of the United Nations General Assembly. During the panel— "Humanitarian Response in Africa: The Urgency to Act"—Worthington addressed the unprecedented challenges that NGOs, humanitarian actors, and UN agencies face when providing immediate humanitarian assistance across Africa. He also reaffirmed InterAction and its members’ commitment to improving the capacity of local NGOs and civil society organizations, and touched on the vital need for further creation and protection of civil society space worldwide.
